It's also simple to use and set up. Another notable feature is the ability to return to where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 mins on one cleaning before running out of battery.
In contrast to other robovacs that we test, the i3+ EVO has self-emptying bins that dump debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's filled. The i3+ EVO can be kept from overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However, it must still be manually emptied at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dustbin can hold 2.4L which is enough to last through four to five cleaning sessions.
Like the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones but not for the i3+ EVO.
Although the i3+ EVO is more effective at picking up dirt and debris from surfaces than the other robovacs we looked at but it's not the best in terms of cleaning corners and edges. It's also a bit less gentle on furniture, despite being surprisingly quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and it became stuck on cords and toys while testing.
2. Black & Decker Pro Q5
The Q5 Pro is an excellent choice for expanding your collection of robot vacuums, or just getting started. It has a sleek design with powerful navigation and efficient automation at a low cost. It's the most affordable pound-for-pound model currently available and even beats Roborock's higher-priced models in many ways.
This robot does a great job of cleaning floors with no dust and its avoidance system helps it steer clear of furniture legs and other obstacles. It also does well on carpets and gets an excellent score in our navigation tests. The only snag is that it's louder than other models we test and doesn't perform as well in our owner satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro has a very large 770ml dust bin that means you don't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also generous when compared to other 2-in-1 robots we tested. If the battery is empty, it returns to its dock and automatically recharges before resuming cleaning where it stopped. You can manage the Q5 Pro via the app and make voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
